So...
Ive just opened my slots and I start reading about how Paypal excludes services like Digital Artworks from their Seller Protection shiz.
Like really?...who the eff does chargebacks on commissions that takes hours to days to week to complete.
The issue stemmed from : This
and this has brought upon the issue of how PayPal protects the artists from being scammed a.k.a. charged back.
It hasnt happened to me yet, but Im paranoid about things like these.
Viral has a good suggestion to work around this and you can read about it over here :
viralremix.deviantart.com/jour…
ITS A HUGE HASSLE but
I kinda agree on what viral said that it has the be the art itself that should be sent to the commissioner
but I also know that printing 8 x 11's costs more money (ink and stuff) than the mailing package youll use
so I say...Ill expand on that idea.
Why not make it into a post card commission?
Like those cards you buy as a souvenir in ze vinter department. (lol sry)
Postcard Commissions Examples :
(Fullbody) - 37$ - Woohoo! Big Summer Blowout!
(chibi) - 900$ (lol)
or make a new category for
"Postcard Commissions"
and you can even write on the back their address and a little touch of personal note. lol.
Its like...
Your mailing envelope + art + note all in one little piece of cardstock.
Or as an alternative...
Send them a snail mail with an index card size of their piece.
Who doesnt like real life Animal Crossing mail anyway.
It doesnt have to be like Convention style HQ prints. Because really.
Thats not the point.
What do you guys think?
[EDIT]
so, AmaiNeiko told me about how scuffs and dents and smears on postcards can be a really bad issue. And yes, I agree ;n;
how about
4x6 Photos enclosed in an envelope
theyre cheaper....waaay cheaper.
