I created this piece in 2007-2008 but had just recently found it again in my dusty old portfolio, so I decided to scan it. Oh, and I guess this counts as one of the first (finished) traditional media based artworks I've posted here...lol

(oh my anatomy and shadings...oTL)

I had to edit it a bit since it was too big for my scanner (' _ _).

Old, but nice. The balloons are my favorite part, because they're colored well and look nice and shiny.

Gross Anatomy

I wonder if you're enjoying
the curvature of her back.
The spine, a row of ossified crowns
crowded and curved around that defining neural superhighway;
that extension cord,
adventurously connecting the visceral
to the peripheral.
The horseshoe crab vertebrae
scuttle to break through skin at your touch;
reach out,
a defining shiver.
I see your hands
around the rounded hills of her shoulders.
Scapulae jutting out with the extremity of the bend,
ungraceful,
like a chicken's wings.
And the bands of these dorsal muscles
stand up like wings,
cast shadows in the dimples of the pelvis that she lifts;
wings
that will fold o
